Hagerstown He and his wife are listed in the 1790 federal census of Washington County with no children. In 1802 Thomas Shuman brought suit against Nicholas Hawken, Jacob Nichol and John George. From this legal action it can be assumed these three gunsmiths were associated in business. A letter was left at the Elizabeth Town Post Office for him in 1803 and 1804.
